Barbarian Dimmer - Character Commission

Dimmer is a Barbarian from the book 'Araira', the 5th book in the series 'Forlorn Raider' by Travis Laughlin.

An extract from the book about Dimmer's character.

"Dimmer’s grin grew larger by the second. Every time this man did something crazy, her face got more excited. Eventually, she grabbed one spear off her back and started clutching it with the anticipation of the tip of the spear going through that man’s chest.
I’d say she was basically drooling. Better yet, she was slobbering all over the place in her own mind. She was a battle junkie if there ever was one… and this guy… was a man. This was the perfect lineup for her to dull out punishment after being bored for too long.
When the man turned around to rile up the crowd more, she steadily pulled her spear back until the tip was even with her head. The damn thing was starting to glow a burning red-hot.

The longer she held it in place, the redder it got until the whole thing looked like it had been in a blacksmith’s furnace to get some work done.

Then it dawned on me… we don’t know what will happen when she throws that spear. This could be another catastrophe just waiting to happen. Damnit, it’s always one thing or another with this woman.

I reached my hand out and tried to yell at her to stop, but it was too late. When she threw the spear, it disappeared. About one second later, a hole appeared through the man followed by the dirt ground exploding underneath their entire formation.
The eruption was so large that I had to dart behind Dimmer to avoid the debris from pelting me to death. Dimmer, in usual Dimmer fashion, took out her other spear and cut away the rocks and fireballs coming our way.

I can’t imagine many of those elves survived. If we hadn’t already made it abundantly clear that we were here to start a war… we just did in a very grandiose way."
